Native Son Returns

Native son, Ervin Smith, who spoke on addiction recovery at The Well of Dyersburg on May 28th, will return to The Well for Coffee and Conversation on September 3, 2016 at 4 PM.  Friends, family, extended family members, and visitors to The Well of Dyersburg are invited to join us as we recognize Mr. Smith’s nineteen consecutive years of recovery as well as his extensive volunteer work within the recovery community. Ervin has been a recovery advocate and mentor for many years in Chicago, Illinois where he now lives.

During Mr. Smith’s visit on September 3rd, we will also mark Pastor Carolyn’s successful defense of her Ph.D. dissertation.  Please join us as we observe Mr. Smith’s nineteen-year milestone and Rev. Dr. Carolyn Smith Goings’ academic achievement.

Prayer, conversation, and refreshments will be available from 4 to 4:50. The worship service will begin at our new start time as of September: 5 PM. Pastor Carolyn will preach on the book of Philemon. Her sermon title will be “No Longer a Slave.”  The service will end promptly at 6 PM.

The Well of Dyersburg aims to model unconditional love, to practice reconciliation, and to grow with our community beyond apathy, ignorance, hatred, and greed as we serve God.

Y’all come!
